I've been hopping around Canada since 2011. I studied engineering in Montreal, worked in Toronto and currently reside in Vancouver between the mountains and the ocean. I transitioned into the startup world a few of years ago. I re-started my career as a customer success coach, moved into data analysis, and finally jumped head first into data engineering. 2017 is the year I decided to build my own data enrichment product which you can find over here. My software and data analysis career was born in a great company called Unbounce where I started as employee #37. When the company grew to 200 employees I decided it was time to build my own data product. My time there also gave birth to a non-profit I'm currently pursuing, more info over at The One Dollar Project. I'm currently working as a Data Engineer at STAT Analytics building pipelines and realizing SEO dreams.
I did my Electrical Engineering Bachelors in Cairo University, Quality of Systems Engineering Masters at Concordia University in Montreal. I'm currently utilizing the biggest and cheapest educational platform (aka the internet) to learn everything my education didn't manage to cover. No more universities for me, just good old self-learning.
STAT is a bootstrapped Vancouver based SEO analytics company providing clients with daily SEO data for thousands of their tracked keywords. I work with the data services team to develop and maintain the daily data collection process
I saw an opportunity as a data analyst to satisfy certain data needs usually required by product and marketing teams in the tech space. I had a pretty good idea of where to obtain more custoemr data and how to make it available for non-techncial teams to have it immediately beneficial. So I set out to build Jasper, a data enrichment platform for marketing and communication software
As the first Data Analyst in the company, I worked with all teams on a diverse set of projects. Validating roadmap items, tracking feature adoption, Net Promoter Score collection/analysis, pricing plans updates and developing customer personas are a few example projects that I worked on. I then transitioned to data engineering where I spent my time supporting the Customer Success and Data Science teams with building data pipelines
My first contact with data was working as a Quality of Experience Lead at Wind Mobile (now Freedom Mobile). I managed the main network probing project utilized for performance management and customer experience reporting
I'm an explorer at heart. I picked up photography sometime along my search for passions in this life and now I'm continuously looking for the most exotic landscapes to experience. So far I've learned that:
Iceland is another planet on earth
Waterfalls are calming
Glacial lakes are nature in perfect form
The best food is in the smallest cities
Travelling alone is not so bad
Vacation days are never enough
Roadtrips are the best way to travel
Utah is a great state
Ruby on Rails

So if you wanna chat about anything or everything, here's where to find me.
